Auprès d’un coq célèbre,
Je remarque un serpent
Qui chante à voix funèbre
(C’est fort préoccupant).
– Dis-moi ce qui t’attriste,
Aimable serpent d’or.
– Pour être un grand artiste,
Point ne suis assez fort.
– Apprends donc ma manière,
Travaille en liberté,
Construisant, pierre à pierre,
Un grand palais d’été.
